Permission denied for admission in 27 AYUSH Colleges
Date: 18-Sep-2019
Karnataka: The Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) has denied permission to 27 AYUSH Colleges in the State for some undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic session 2019-20.
The reason behind denial of permission is the poor infrastructure and availability of faculty. The affiliating University of these AYUSH colleges, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has issued a circular to all these colleges, which states that the colleges have to strictly follow the instructions of the Govt. of India with respect to not making any admissions for the AYUSH course for the year 2019-20. The circular also mentions that strict action will be taken against colleges if any admissions are found to be made.
Students are asked not to enroll for courses like BAMS, MD/MS Ayurveda and BUMS in these colleges.
To name a few, Colleges in Bangalore like Ramakrishna Ayurvedic Medical College has been denied to accept admissions for BAMS and MD/MS Ayurveda, Hillside Ayurvedic Medical College and Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine have been denied to accept admissions for BAMS for this year.
Other colleges are in districts like Hubli, Haveri, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Shimoga, Dharwad, Bijapur, Belgaum, Badami, Nipani, Bagalkot and Gulbarga.
