Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC Vellore) began a 100 years back in 1918. In 1942, The medical school was raised to the status of a college. The Christian Medical College is an unaided, non capitation, Christian minority educational institution that is formed by over 50 different Indian Christian churches and Christian organizations.

CMC Vellore is ranked amongst the top medical colleges in India. CMC aims to bring high quality health care to those who need it the most.

Christian Medical College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

The college offers UG, PG medical, PG diploma and Super speciality courses.

There are over 2800 beds for in-patients and over 8000 outpatients are treated daily in the main hospital and in peripheral units.
