About B.R. Ambedkar Medical College:
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College has been established in the year 1981 by Anandaa Social and Education Trust. The emblem of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College is a symbolic expression of compassion and sacred service to be adopted for the practice of modern medicine.
The college was initially affiliated to the Bangalore University and is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college runs the MBBS course as well as post-graduate courses in many subjects that are recognized by the Medical Council of India
The intake of MBBS students per academic year is 100, out of which 10% belong to SC/ST. Also on campus are the School and college of Nursing, Institute of Physiotherapy, Paramedical Courses, and the Gents and Ladies Hostels, Staff quarters, Cafeteria, Pharmacy, Central Lab, Animal House, ATM and post-mortem block.

The annual intake of students for the MBBS course is 100 and is recognized by Medical Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The duration of the course is 4.5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship. As per the new regulations of Medical Council of India (MCI) the MBBS course has been divided into 3 phases.
MBBS Eligibility Criteria & Admission:

Hostels:
The college runs hostels for the men and women students separately within the campus at Kadugondanahalli. The hostel buildings with spacious rooms, lounges, recreation room having color television sets in each of the hostels, with all other modern amenities, are built to ensure comfortable stay of the inmates, and a proper atmosphere for study. The women students’ hostel, with a view to ensure absolute safety of the inmates, is fenced properly and secured.
Sports & Cultural Activities:
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College lays great emphasis on the all round development of the student. The college campus has a spacious sports ground and materials for several outdoor and indoor activities. Students take a keen interest in literary and cultural activities. The College Day, Graduation Day, competitions on Karnataka Rajyothsava are some of the platform for literary and cultutral activities. A college magazine is brought out with articles mostly contributed by students and staff.
