About Father Muller Medical College:

Father Muller Medical College is a unit of the Father Muller’s charitable institutions, a society that is registered and sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore. It was primarily established for the members of the Christian community but like all other Educational Institution under Catholic auspices it is open to all persons irrespective of religion, caste or community.

The Postgraduate courses MD/MS/Diploma was started in the year 1991while the MBBS started in the year 1999. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited it with an A grade. All the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at Father Muller College is approved and recognized by the Medical Council of India.

MBBS Eligibility and Admission:

The MBBS program is for duration of four and a half years with a 1 year of rotating internship opportunity. The candidate must have 

  • Two year P.U.C Examination conducted by the P.U.C Board, Karnataka State with English and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
  • Intermediate Examination in science of an Indian University Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which shall include a practical test in three subjects and also English as compulsory subject.
  • First year of the three year degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a 'University Examination.
  • B.S.C Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.SC. Examination with not less than two of the following subjects-Physics, Chemistry, biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed either the qualifying examination with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • Any other examination whose scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University / Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English.
  • Candidates must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. In the case of scheduled caste, Scheduled tribe candidates, the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40%.
  • The candidates should have completed 17 years on or before 31st day of December of the year of admission.

PG Eligibility and Admission:
The duration of the course is 3 years with a candidate a graduate in medicine from a recognized university by the Medical Council of India and also one year of satisfactory rotating compulsory internship. 

MD Courses: The courses are offered in M.D. (General Medicine), M.D. (Pediatrics), M.D. (Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology), M.D. (Anesthesiology), M.D. (Psychiatry), M.D. (Radio diagnosis), M.D. (Pathology), M.D. (Radio-therapy), MD (Microbiology), MD (Biochemistry) and MD (Pharmacology).

MS Courses: The offered courses in MS are MS (General Surgery), MS (Obstetrics & Gynecology), MS (Otorhinolaryngology), MS (Orthopedics) and MS (Ophthalmology).

It also offers PHD courses in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology.

PG Diploma Eligibility and Admission:
The duration is 2 years and an ideal candidate should be a graduate in Medicine (M.B.B.S)from any university recognized by the Medical Council of India, should have completed satisfactorily the Rotating compulsory internship of one year in an institution recognized by the MCI and the candidate should have obtained permanent Registration of any State Medical Council.

DCH (Diploma in Child Health), DDVL (Diploma in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology), DA (Diploma in Anaesthesiology), DPM (Diploma in Psychiatric Medicine), DMRD (Diploma in Radiodiagnosis), DGO (Diploma Obstetrics & Gynecology), DLO (Diploma Otorhinolaryngology) and D Ortho (Diploma Orthopedics)

Infrastructure Facilities:

Central Library - The four storied complex consists of Central Library with Postgraduate and Undergraduate Sections, Reading Halls, e-Library and two spacious ultra modern conference halls.

Sports and Games - Various inter - college events takes place every year. The team includes staff as well as postgraduate students. FMMC Chess men team was the Winners and women Runners in the RGUHS Mysore Zone Chess Tournament held on 23 rd & 24 th August 2017 which was organized by ALN Rao Ayurvedic Medical College, Koppa
