Gandhi Medical College Date: 20-11-2019

Gandhi Medical College was established in the year 1954. Officially the college was inaugurated on 1955 by the first president of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad. In the year 1956 the college was handed over to the Government of Hyderabad for the development of the institution. The college is located in Musheerabad, Secunderabad District.

Gandhi Medical College is one of the premier medical colleges in India. The main aim was to bring high quality education and health care services to the nearby rural places. 

The Medical College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences.

Gandhi Medical College enrolls 200 MBBS Students every year.

The college offers Postgraduate courses like MD and MS in various specialisations like Anaesthesiology, 
Bio-Chemistry, Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Forensic Medicine, GeneralMedicine, Hospital Administration, Microbiology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Psychiatry, Radio Diagnosis, Community Medicine, Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases, Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedics.

The medical college offers PG diploma course in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Anaesthesiology, Child Health, Clinical Pathology, Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Public Health, Radio Diagnosis/Radiology

The college also offers Super speciality course in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology/Genito-Urinary Surgery.

Back in 1851 Gandhi hospital was started as an Infirmary of 3 wards, Later the hospital was progressed and grown into a teaching hospital to the student of Gandhi medical college which has bed strength of 1200 and performs about 80,000 outpatient and 42,000 inpatient annually.

The college campus is spread over an area about 10 acres, Which is self contained with all facilities like Hostel, lecture halls, Library, laboratories, etc.
