45 AIQ Seats to be filled by local students in Jharkhand

Jharkhand: The Central Government Health Department has permitted the State Government to fill up 15% AIQ MBBS seats in newly permitted Government medical colleges in Hazaribagh, Dumka and Palamu by the local students in 2019-20 session.

The deputy secretary health and medical education, family welfare Jharkhand Government, Abhishek Srivastava, has directed the Controller of Examination of Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) Board to conduct MBBS counselling against 15% AIQ seats left over in newly permitted medical colleges by 30 September 2019.

All these three new Government medical colleges of the State have 100 MBBS seats each among which 15% of the MBBS seats are reserved for AIQ and are filled through NEET exam.

MBBS admission of State quota in these three medical colleges was completed on 31 August 2019 but 15% AIQ seats (45 seats) remained vacant. The course has already commenced in these colleges.
Honorable Supreme Court gave conditional permission to these colleges on 25 August 2019 to take MBBS admission in 2019-20 session. 

The health department official said that since the Supreme Court has permitted to fill up MBBS seats, admission would be taken till 30 September now.
