Malaysia Foreign University to offer MBBS in India
Date: 03-Oct-2019Medical aspirants seeking MBBS course can now pursue the Malaysia based Lincoln University College’s Doctor of Medicine course in India. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has listed the Lincoln University College’s degree as an equivalent degree to that of MBBS in India.
Classes will be conducted at Sanjiban Hospital in Kolkata, which is also a facilitator for the course. According to Swati Sanyal, Operations Director of EduGlobal (a consultant for both institutions), 65 students were admitted last year. The students would graduate with an International degree. Every year, students will be taken to Malaysia for training.
With increasing demand from South India, especially from Tamil Nadu, the University had increased the intake to 100 seats this year. Students will be admitted based on NEET marks only. The course fee is Rs. 50 Lakhs inclusive of the trips to Malaysia for training but exclusive of hostel fees in Kolkata.
Doctors at the 300-bed Sanjiban Hospital will train students. The hospital will also prepare medical students for the foreign medical graduate exams that they will have to take after completion of the course to practice in India.
