The Govt. of Karnataka has authorized Directorate of Medical Education for selection of candidates through counselling for admission to BPT course for the seats in Government Physiotherapy colleges and Government seats in Private Physiotherapy colleges.

Candidates seeking admission to BPT course should fulfill the below given criteria:

  • Candidates should be Indian Citizens
  • Candidates should have passed II PUC/12th Std. or equivalent examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually
  • Candidates should have obtained not less than 40% marks (35% in case of SC/ST & OBC applicants) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their II PUC/12th Std. or equivalent examination
  • Candidates should fulfill any of the eligibility clauses (A to K)

Clause A: Candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Govt. or Govt. recognized educational institutions located in Karnataka for a min. period of 7 academic years commencing from 1stStd. to 2ndPUC/12th Std. as on 1 July of the year. Candidates must have appeared and passed SSLC/10th Std. or 2ndPUC/12th Std. examination from Karnataka. In case of the candidates who had taken more than one year to pass a class, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.

Clause B: Candidate should have studied and passed either 1st and 2nd year Pre-University Examination or 11th and 12th standard examination within the State of Karnataka from an Educational Institution run or recognized by the State Govt. and that either of the parents should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years.

  3. If claiming reservation benefits: Caste/Caste Income Certificate issued by Concerned Tahsildar (For SC/ST in Form-D, Category-I in Form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F) along with:
  • (a)Study Certificate for either of the parent having studied for at least 7 years in Karnataka from the Head of the educational institution where he/she had studied. 
  • (b) Candidate’s study certificate for having studied both 1st& 2ndPUC or 11th& 12th std. in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution

Clause C: Candidate and either of the parent’s mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and either of parent was domiciled in Karnataka. Such candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from a University or Board or any other Institution located outside Karnataka and should be residing outside Karnataka as on 1stMay of the year of BPT admission.

  2. 2nd PUC/12th std. Marks Card
  3. Domicile certificate issued by the concerned Revenue or Municipal Authorities certifying that the candidate and his either of parent have resided outside Karnataka as on 1 May of the year of admission. The place of the Issuing authority should correspond to the place of domicile of the candidate/father/mother
  4. Domicile certificate issued by concerned Revenue Authorities of Karnataka regarding the previous domicile of the father/mother of the candidate as a place in the state of Karnataka. The place of the Issuing authority should correspond to the place of domicile of the father/mother
  5. Candidate’s Study Certificate, Transfer Certificate
  6. Father/Mother 10thstd Marks Card/Cumulative record in original in support of mother tongue as Kannada/Tulu/Kodava
  7. A duly sworn declaration regarding mother tongue of the candidates

Clause D: Candidate whose mother tongue is Kannada, Kodavaor Tulu should have resided and studied for a period of 7 years between 1stand 12thstandards in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or GadhinglajTaluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga or ManjeshwarTaluks of Kerala State.

  1. SSLC/10thstd. Marks Card
  2. 2nd PUC/12th std. Marks Card
  3. Residential Certificate from the concerned Tahsildar of the respective disputed Taluk
  4. Candidate’s Study Certificate issued by the head of the institution, which should be countersigned by Taluk Education Officer
  5. A duly sworn declaration regarding mother tongue of the candidate

Clause E: Son or daughter of defence personnel, who has worked continuously in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year in Karnataka during the Two-year period of study of candidate in PUC/11th and 12th Standard course. The candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Govt. or Govt. recognized educational institution located in the State of Karnataka.
Documents to be produced:

  1. SSLC/10thstd. Marks Card
  2. 2nd PUC/12th std. Marks Card
  3. Candidate’s Study Certificate for having studied 2ndPUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution
  4. Employment Certificate of the parent issued by the Controlling Office where the parent is working indicating the period during which he has worked in the State of Karnataka i.e., from the reporting date to till date

Clause F: Son or daughter of serving Defence personnel from Karnataka who at the time of joining the Defence service had declared his/her hometown a place in the State of Karnataka. Proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced by obtaining the extract from the AG’s branch (Army Hqs) respective branch of integrated HQ of MoD for Officers and respective Record Offices for JCOs / OR. Further, the candidate should have passed the 2ndPUC/12th Standard from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

  3. If claiming reservation benefits: Caste/Caste Income Certificate issued by Concerned Tahsildar as per the prescribed format along with

Clause G: Son or daughter of a defence personnel, who had served in Karnataka for at least one year and is posted on duty in Field / Active Service and whose family is permitted by Defence Authorities to continue to stay in Karnataka. Such candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Govt. or Govt. recognized educational institution located in Karnataka
Documents to be produced:

  1. SSLC/10thstd. Marks Card
  2. 2nd PUC/12th std. Marks Card
  3. Candidate’s Study Certificate for having studied 2nd PUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution
  4. Service certificate of the parent issued by the Controlling Office indicating the period during which the parent has worked in Karnataka and a certificate showing the present place of posting, indicating that his family is permitted to stay in Karnataka. The present working place of the parent should be indicated in NAME and not by CODE NUMBER

Clause H:Son or daughter of an ex-servicemen who at the time of joining the defence service had declared a place in Karnataka as his home town, proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced from the “Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement” of that District and the same should countersigned by the Director Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement. Further, the candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

Clause I: Son or daughter of an employee of the Union Govt. or an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Govt. Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking, who is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment and has worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year in Karnataka during the Two year period of study of candidates in PUC / 11th and 12th Standard course. Such candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Govt. or Govt. recognized educational institution located in the State of Karnataka.

Clause J: Son or daughter of a working or retired employee of the Union Govt. or employee of Union or Karnataka State Govt. undertaking or Joint Sector undertaking where such employee; (a) had declared to the employer at the time of joining service any place in Karnataka to be his home town; and (b) had studied in any Govt. or Govt. recognized educational institution or institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years; and was or is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment. The steps involved in the online application for admission to first year BPT course are as follows:

  1. Visit KEA official website and navigate to “Admission to B.Sc Nursing, B.P.T, B.P.O and Allied Health Sciences”
  2. Click on Online Registration
  3. Fill in the required details
  4. After completion of entry of all the details, candidate will receive an Application ID and Password to his/her registered Mobile Number and Email Address
  5. Upload scanned copy of recent passport size color Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG/JPEG format separately
  6. Pay the requisite fee in the prescribed method
  7. Take a printout of the final submitted application form

  • Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO/DDPI (CBSE, CISCE candidates should produce the study certificate obtained from the Principal of their respective schools. Further, countersignature of BEO or DDPI is not required for them)
If applicable, the following documents should be produced:

  • Kannada Medium Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO, for the candidates claiming Kannada Medium reservation benefits
  • Rural Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO and a verification certificate (only for GM candidates)
  • Caste Certificate / Caste Income Certificate / Income Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildhar, for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits
  • Candidates claiming Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Reservation (Article 371 (j)) must submit the required certificate issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner
  • Parent’s study certificate/Parent’s Hometown certificate/Parent’s Domicile certificate/Parent’s Employment certificate/Parent’s Cumulative Record/Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile/study/employment of the parent
  • For Horanadu and GadinaduKannadiga candidates and Anglo Indian Candidates: Affidavit Duly sworn in for the candidates who claim eligibility under Horanadu and GadinaduKannadiga clauses & Anglo Indian clauses
  • Candidate shall be eligible to claim caste, category and income benefit only if he has claimed the same in the online application form. Candidate belonging to SC, ST and Category-I claiming seat under reserved category shall also produce Income certificate issued by the jurisdictional Tahshildar for verification if fee exemption is to be claimed
  • Relevant Certificates for those who are claiming exemption for seven years study in Karnataka
  • Physical Fitness Certificate

  • Candidates who are registered but did not attend document verification

There is no restriction on the number of options. Candidates can fill any number of options based on their preference and seat availability.

Candidates who are allotted seat in the first round will have to select any one of the following choices:

  1. Choice 1: Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seat in any subsequent round. Such candidates should pay prescribed fees, download admission letter and report to the allotted medical college as per the schedule with required documents
  2. Choice 2: Satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidate should pay the prescribed fees but do not report at the allotted college
  3. Choice 3: Not satisfied with the current allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. Such candidate will lose the seat allotted in the first round.
  4. Choice 4: Not satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds.
