Yes, NEET MDS is mandatory for Foreign National seeking MDS admission in dental colleges in India.

Foreign National having undergraduate dental degree from a Foreign University/Institute can write NEET MDS exam without DCI registration. The DCI, on payment of the prescribed registration fee, may grant temporary registration to Foreign National for the duration of the MDS course limited to the dental college to which he/she is admitted. The temporary registration will be issued by the DCI to Foreign National only if such Foreign National is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his/her own country where from he/she has obtained Primary Dental Qualification, duly recognized by the concerned Medical Council.

Eligible candidates can apply for NEET MDS exam by submitting their application form online on NBE website. The following sequence shall be observed while filling NEET MDS application form:

  1. Fill the NEET MDS registration form for obtaining User ID and Password
  2. User ID and Password will be sent to the registered mobile number and Email ID
  3. Login to Application portal using User ID and Password to access Application Form
  4. Fill all the required details in the NEET MDS application form
  5. Upload Photograph and Signature in desired formats
  6. Choose NEET MDS exam center
  7. Make application fee payment
  8. Take a print out of the filled NEET MDS application form with Transaction ID printed on it

The prescribed NEET MDS application form fee is Rs. 2750 for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs. 3750 for General/OBC candidates. The application fee should be remitted through payment gateway using Debit Card or Credit Card or Internet banking.

Candidates must follow the guidelines given below for successful uploading of Photograph:

  • Photograph must be a passport size color photograph without border and clearly showing the face
  • Photograph must in color with white background only 
  • Name of the candidate and date of capturing the photograph should be at the bottom of the photograph

  • The dimension of image must be 3.5*4.5 cm (width*height)

At the time of online submission of NEET MDS application form, candidate will be required to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. The choice of city will depend on test centre availability in a particular city and the allotment of city/centre shall be done on first come first serve basis. In case testing centre is not available in the State in which candidate prefers to appear in NEET MDS, he/she can choose the option OTHERS from the list of States at the time of selection of the State during online submission of NEET MDS application. NBE will make all efforts to ensure that the candidate is allotted a test centre in the State of correspondence address of the candidate. In case test centre is not available in the concerned State due to logistic, administrative and other reasons, NBE shall allot test centre in a nearby State.

  • Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), notes, Calculator, Plastic Pouch, Pen, Writing Pad, Eraser, Pen Drives, etc.
  • Any electronic device like Bluetooth, Mobile Phone, Microphone, Earphones, Pager, wrist watch/Health Band, Electronic Pen/Scanner, Calculator, etc.
  • Any ornament like bracelets, Earrings, Ring, Nose-pin, Pendants, Chain/Necklace, Necklace with pendants, Brooch, Badge, etc.
  • Other items like Goggles, Wallet, Handbags, Cap, Belt, etc
  • Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle, soft drinks, etc

The following shall be undertaken upon reporting of the candidate at the counter of test centre:

  • ID verification – The original documents will be checked in original. All candidates at the centre shall be frisked by security guards
  • Capture of left thumb prints – The left thumb prints of all candidates shall be captured electronically
  • Capturing of digital image – As a security measure, digital image of the reporting candidates shall be captured and taken on record
