Candidates who fulfill the below given criteria are eligible to apply for NEET exam:

  • Candidate should have completed age of 17 years at the time of MBBS admission/BDS admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to first year MBBS course/BDS course
  • Candidate should have passed in 12th Std. or equivalent examination with subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology. In case of SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination will be 40% marks. In case of PwD candidates, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination will be 45% marks

The procedure to apply for NEET exam is as follows:

  • Register on the official website of NTA to generate Application Number and Password
  • Login to the Application Portal
  • Fill in the required details which includes Personal Details, Place of Birth, Choice of Medium of Question Paper, Choice of Examination City, Academic Details (10th, 11th  & 12th Classes), Permanent Address, Correspondence Address, Details of Parent/Guardian, Dress Code and Security Pin
  • Upload Scanned images of Photograph and Signature

  • Photograph should be of Passport Size with White Background
  • Photograph should be recent one
  • Photograph should not have Cap or Goggles, Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly

NEET question paper would be available in languages such as English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Candidates can opt for any one of these languages. Option of medium of NEET question paper should be carefully exercised while filling NEET application form and the option once exercise by candidates cannot be changed later. Candidates choosing English would be provided test booklet in English language only. Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided test booklet in English and Hindi. Candidates opting for regional languages would be provided test booklet in English and in selected regional language.

Candidates are not allowed to carry the following items inside the NEET exam centre under any circumstances. The candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the exam centre with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors.

  • Any stationery item like bits of papers, textual material (printed or written), Geometry/Pencil Box, Pen, Writing Pad, Scale, Eraser, Plastic Pouch, Pen Drives, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner etc.
  • Any communication device like Bluetooth, Mobile Phone, Microphone, Earphones, Pager, Health Band, etc.
  • Other items like Goggles, Wallet, Belt, Handbags, Cap, Bracelet, Watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, etc.
  • Any eatable item packed or opened, water bottle, cold drinks, etc.

Candidates are instructed to follow the following dress code while appearing for NEET exam:

  • Light Colored Clothes with Half Sleeves (Long Sleeves are not permitted). In case if candidates come in Cultural or Customary Dress at the exam centre, they should report at least one hour before the last reporting time so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate
  • Sandals with Low Heels, Slippers are permitted (Shoes are not permitted)
