About M S Ramaiah Medical College:

The Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) was established in 1979 with the vision of providing quality education to all. The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). 

To meet the need of training the next generation of doctors, the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital (RMCH) was set upon the campus in 1984. The Hospital accommodates 1,331 beds and offers all super specialties. The College is well-equipped with the latest infrastructure, technology-enabled classrooms and advanced laboratories, and continually focuses on teaching, clinical practice, and research.

The MBBS Curriculum:
The MBBS course is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. This programme covers all preclinical, Para-clinical and clinical disciplines through theory classes and clinical training as mandated by the MCI guidelines. The students are taught through lectures, tutorials, and training at the Hospital. The College focuses on integrated learning for students to understand the role of each discipline in diagnosis and treatment. The duration of the course is 4.5 years plus 1 year of compulsory rotating internship. 

The student intake is 150 per year.

Admission Procedure/Eligibility Criteria: 
All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit through online counseling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (kea.kar.nic.in). Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all India basis by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

MD/MS course:
Affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, the MD/MS program enables learning through theory classes, clinical training and research activities as mandated by the MCI guidelines. 
The students are taught through lectures, journal clubs, seminars, CMEs, conferences, case discussions, and skill training at the Advanced Learning Center and the Hospital. 
The duration of the course is 3 years.

Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Radio Diagnosis, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Radiotherapy, Respiratory Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Dermatology.

Disciplines offered in MS: 
General Surgery, OBG, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and Oto-Rhino-Laryngology

Admission Process/Eligibility Criteria:

The DM/MCH Course: 
This programme enables learning through theory classes, clinical training and research activities as mandated by the MCI guidelines. The students are taught through lectures, journal clubs, seminars, CMEs, conferences, case discussions, and skill training at the Advanced Learning Center and the Hospital.

Disciplines offered in DM: 
Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, And Gastroenterology.

Disciplines offered in MCH: 
Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery

Fellowship is offered in 3 disciplines: 
Fellowship in Perinatal Medicine, Indian Diploma In Critical Care Medicine And Post MBBS Critical Care Certificate Course.

Fellowship in Perinatal Medicine
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates who are in possession of recognized postgraduate medical degree MD/DNB (Pediatrics) / DCH (with one year work experience). Duration is 1 year.

Admission Procedure:
Based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and on performance in interview.

Post MBBS Critical Care Certificate Course: 

Eligibility: 
Candidates who have studied and passed the courses leading to the award of an MBBS Degree in colleges recognized by the Medical Council of India and affiliated to any University established by law in India. The duration of the course is 2 years.

PHD courses: 
Ramaiah Medical College also offers Ph.D programs in Microbiology, Physiology, Pathology and Community Medicine.

Eligibility and Duration: 
To register for Ph.D course, M.Sc candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in the concerned subject. The duration of the Ph.D program will be from the date of provisional registration to the date of submission of thesis. The candidate can register for Ph.D course either as full-time or as a part-time research scholar.

Advanced learning center - The learning center provides hand-on training as well as workshops where students are taught advanced and basic surgical skills.

Also the library provides facilities in scanning, photocopying, printing and digital access with over 19,000 books and 10,366 back volumes of journals across 235 countries.
