In case of two or more candidates obtaining same marks in NEET PG exam, the merit position shall be determined following tie-breaker criteria in descending order as given below:

  • Candidate having lesser number of negative responses in the entire paper including all Parts will be placed at a better merit position
  • Candidate scoring higher marks in Part C of the NEET PG question paper will be placed at a better merit position
  • Candidate having lesser number of negative responses in Part C of the NEET PG question paper will be placed at a better merit position
  • Candidate scoring higher marks in Part B of the NEET PG question paper will be placed at a better merit position

No. AIIMS conduct their own entrance exam. It is mandatory to appear in AIIMS exam and obtain required score for admission to PG medical courses in AIIMS institutions. In addition to AIIMS, the following institutions are not covered under Centralized Counselling for PG medical admission through NEET PG:

  • PGIMER Chandigarh
  • NIMHANS Bangalore
  • Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum

Candidates should fulfill the below given criteria to be eligible to appear in JIPMER PG exam:

  • Candidate must be an Indian National or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Candidate must possess MCI recognized MBBS degree
  • Candidate must have completed one year internship on or before 31 December 2019 (Candidates not completing the internship on or before 31 December 2019 need not apply for January 2020 session)
  • Candidate must have obtained Minimum Qualifying Marks as follows:                                                                                             
    1. 55% marks in aggregate for all other categories including OBC Category
    2. 50% marks in aggregate for candidates belonging to SC/ST Category
    3. For OPH candidates the minimum aggregate as provided in (i) and (ii) for the category to which the candidate belongs shall apply.
  • In case of Foreign Nationals, candidates are required to route their JIPMER PG application through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. All Foreign Nationals will have to take prior permission from MCI before applying for PG medical courses in JIPMER. An advance copy of the application and copy of request to MCI must be submitted at JIPMER Pondicherry before the last date of receipt of applications. In the event of selection, the candidate has to apply for temporary registration with MCI for the duration of PG medical study

The procedure to apply for JIPMER PG exam is as follows:

  1. Visit official website of JIPMER and Navigate to Exam Section
  2. Click on the JIPMER PG Application Link
  3. Create User ID and Password by submitting required details
  4. Login to your account and click on Go to Application on Top Right Corner
  5. Fill in Personal details, Category details, Qualification details, Contact details, ID Proof details
  6. Select Exam City
  7. Upload Photograph and Signature
  8. Pay Application Fee
  9. Take print out of the final submitted application form

Candidate must follow below given instructions for uploading Photograph:

  • One recent color passport size photograph with light background is required
  • Photograph must not be older than six months
  • Photograph must be taken with a Placard indicating name of the candidate and date of capturing Photograph

  • Soft copy of Photograph must be saved as “Candidate Photograph” in .jpg format
  • The size of the image should be between 20kb – 200kb

Foreign Nationals are required to fill in the prescribed online JIPMER PG application form with only one discipline of their choice. They should send their registration slip of online application through Diplomatic channel. They should appear in JIPMER PG exam along with other candidates. They are required to submit an “Advance Copy” at JIPMER before the last date of online registration. However, the application of all such candidates will be processed only after receipt of the same through Diplomatic Channel.

Basic Clinical Sciences: The total number of questions is 100 that include subjects namely Anatomy, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology Physiology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology.

Clinical Sciences: The total number of questions is 150 that include subjects namely Anesthesiology,Community Medicine, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine and Blood Transfusion Medicine, Radio diagnosis and Radiotherapy.
